Free-use Mountain biking
We love introducing all our guests to two-wheeled adventures in the Alps, whether they’re mad about biking or just curious to ‘give it a go’. We offer free (standard hard-tail) bike hire for all guests and a free lift pass in Tignes (for 3 days) on the MyTignes card. If you want to use the lift-assisted trails, we would recommend renting a full suspension bike from our suppliers which ou Active team can help you with.
Free Bikes & Bike Hire
- Free Bike hire (hardtail bikes) for all guests. Available at hotel workshops (age 6+)
- Free Bike hire upgrades for chalets (earlybookers). See below
- Free E-Bike tasters (half day) at Tetras Lodge and Christiania; Full-day upgrades & additional day’s hire packages available for all properties.
- E-Bike hire (from us) is from £59 a day – pre-book using MyHoliday Client Area
- Free Kids bikes and baby trailers available (<6yrs). Can be limited.
- The free Bike hire is available Sunday to Friday. Workshops are open 8.30-10.30 and 4-5.30pm for pick up/drop off

Route Cards
We have created some preset bike rides and itineraries for a great half or full day out. They often take in other activities along the way so it’s not just all about the biking. Our route cards are designed for all levels.
Lift passes
- Morzine & Gets: Biking lift pass from €5-10 per uplift (€112 per week)
- Tignes Biking lift pass is included on our MyTignes Multipass which we give to guests (for free) for 3 days; and 6 days for Adrenaline Pack upgrades and self catered chalet Marilyn. You can also upgrade your 3 day to 6 days from only €12 with our reps.
To Order a Lift pass:
Buy a lift pass with our Active Reps at your Welcome meeting and we will bring your pass to you shortly after. You can also buy lift passes directly from the lift stations.
We recommend
- Follow our Route Cards with suggested biking itineraries (QR above) or ask our Active rep for printed Route Cards
- Our free bike hire workshops (at hotels) are very busy on a Sunday morning, if you can wait until the afternoon or Monday then you’ll have more choice
- Hire a full-sus’ bike for lift-assisted trail riding
- Hire body armour and full face helmets for lift-assisted trail riding
- Hire a guide for the day (or half day) if you are new to this. Ask our Active Reps
- Take a backpack with water, a phone, rain-mac and sun cream
Professionally guided rides
Tip: We offer up to two complimentary guided rides for our Hotel Tetras guests inTignes.
In Morzine and Les Gets, you can hire a mountain guide for a half or full day. It’s a great way to discover the mountain trails with an experienced leader. Often, you can share the cost with other guests and our Active reps will try to connect you with other riders if you register an interest at hotel reception or at the Welcome meeting. Alternatively, call your Active rep (number on chalet & hotel notice boards). Typical costs are €290 a day for 8-10 riders.
Free 'Reserve a Bike' hire upgrades
All our guests in Morzine, Les Gets an Tignes will be able to pick up a bike from our hotel racks each time they would like to use one. Workshops are normally open between 9.30 & 5pm (with a break for lunch). We don’t often experience issues with bike availability and normally there are plenty to go around, but there may be a slight wait in busy periods.
You may Reserve a Bike all week, with the settings unchanged, just for you to use. This means that you won’t have to have a fresh one fitted each day and there will be no risk of waiting. We call this our Reserve a Bike Upgrade, although it’s the same bike as our free-use bikes – it’s just reserved to you for the week.
